The Sooper Buddy Journey
The Idea
A small group of entrepreneurs in Kashipur noticed that hyperlocal delivery and ride-hailing services were largely absent from tier-2 cities in Uttarakhand. The idea for Sooper Buddy was born at a chai stall in NH-74.
Building the Foundation
The core team was assembled — engineers, operations leads, and community managers all from Uttarakhand. Development began on the Customer, Rider, and Partner apps simultaneously.
First Deliveries
Sooper Buddy made its first food deliveries in Kashipur with a fleet of just 12 riders and 8 restaurant partners. Response from the community was overwhelmingly positive.
Rapid Expansion
Within 6 months, the platform grew to 500+ delivery partners, 200+ restaurant and store partners, and crossed 10,000 registered customers — all through word of mouth.
New Services Added
Grocery delivery, medicine delivery, parcel services, and bike & cab rides were added to the platform. Sooper Buddy became a true all-in-one super app for Kashipur.
Growing Across Uttarakhand
With a strong foundation in Kashipur, Sooper Buddy is now expanding to nearby cities across Uttarakhand — bringing the same reliable, affordable services to more communities.
